Psalm 85 - Pray For Revival In Ourselves, Our Churches, & Our Nation

1 Lord, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.
Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.
Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.
Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.
Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation.
I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.

The Jesus Fish? (Ichthus)

The pre-Christian history of the fish symbol:
The fish symbol has been used for millennia worldwide as a religious symbol associated with the Pagan Great Mother Goddess. It is the outline of her genetalia. The fish symbol was often drawn by overlapping two very thin crescent moons. One represented the crescent shortly before the new moon; the other shortly after, when the moon is just visible. The Moon is the heavenly body that has long been associated with the Goddess, just as the sun is a symbol of the God.

The link between the Goddess and fish was found in various areas of the ancient world:
bullet
In China, Great Mother Kwan-yin often portrayed in the shape of a fish
bullet
In India, the Goddess Kali was called the "fish-eyed one"
bullet
In EgyptIsis was called the Great Fish of Abyss
bullet
In Greece the Greek word "delphos" meant both fish and womb. The word is derived from the location of the ancient Oracle at Delphi who worshipped the original fish goddess, Themis. The later fish Goddess, Aphrodite Salacia, was worshipped by her followers on her sacred day, Friday. They ate fish and engaging in orgies. From her name comes the English word "salacious" which means lustful or obscene. Also from her name comes the name of our fourth month, April. In later centuries, the Christian church adsorbed this tradition by requiring the faithful to eat fish on Friday - a tradition that was only recently abandoned.
bullet
In ancient Rome Friday is called "dies veneris" or Day of Venus, the Pagan Goddess of Love.
bullet
Throughout the Mediterranean, mystery religions used fish, wine and bread for their sacramental meal.
bullet
In Scandinavia, the Great Goddess was named Freya; fish were eaten in her honor. The 6th day of the week was named "Friday" after her.
bullet
In the Middle East, the Great Goddess of Ephesus was portrayed as a woman with a fish amulet over her genitals.

The fish symbol "was so revered throughout the Roman empire that Christian authorities insisted on taking it over, with extensive revision of myths to deny its earlier female-genital meanings...Sometimes the Christ child was portrayed inside the vesica, which was superimposed on Mary's belly and obviously represented her womb, just as in the ancient symbolism of the Goddess."  Another author writes: "The fish headdress of the priests of Ea [a Sumero-Semitic God] later became the miter of the Christian bishops."
The symbol itself, the eating of fish on Friday and the association of the symbol with deity the symbol itself, the eating of fish on Friday and the association of the symbol with deity were all taken over by the early Church from Pagan sources. Only the sexual component was deleted.
Ichthys (Greekχθύς, capitalized ΙΧΘΥΣ; also transliterated and Latinized as ichthysicthusichthus or ichthus; ichthus), is the Ancient and Classical Greek word for "fish." In English it refers to a symbol consisting of two intersecting arcs, the ends of the right side extending beyond the meeting point so as to resemble the profile of a fish, said to have been used by early Christians as a secret symbol and now known colloquially as the "Jesus fish"." Greek χθύς is an acronym (or backronym) of ησος ΧριστόςΘεο ΥόςΣωτήρ "Jesus ChristGod's SonSaviour."Ichthys is also the son of Atargatis.

Psalm 121 w/ Matthew Henry's Commentary Notes

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Matthew Henry Bible Commentary - Psalms Chapter 121

Some call this the soldier's psalm, and think it was penned in the camp, when David was hazarding his life in the high places of the field, and thus trusted God to cover his head in the day of battle. Others call it the traveller's psalm (for there is nothing in it of military dangers) and think David penned it when he was going abroad, and designed it pro vehiculo—for the carriage, for a good man's convoy and companion in a journey or voyage. But we need not thus appropriate it; wherever we are, at home or abroad, we are exposed to danger more than we are aware of; and this psalm directs and encourages us to repose ourselves and our confidence in God, and by faith to put ourselves under his protection and commit ourselves to his care, which we must do, with an entire resignation and satisfaction, in singing this psalm. I. David here assures himself of help from God (v. 1, 2). II. He assures others of it (v. 3-8).

A song of degrees.
Verses 1-8

This psalm teaches us,
  I. To stay ourselves upon God as a God of power and a God all-sufficient for us. David did so and found the benefit of it. 1. We must not rely upon creatures, upon men and means, instruments and second causes, nor make flesh our arm: "Shall I lift up my eyes to the hills?''—so some read it. "Does my help come thence? Shall I depend upon the powers of the earth, upon the strength of the hills, upon princes and great men, who, like hills, fill the earth, and hold up their heads towards heaven? No; in vain is salvation hoped for from hills and mountains, Jer. 3:23. I never expect help to come from them; my confidence is in God only.'' We must lift up our eyes above the hills (so some read it); we must look beyond instruments to God, who makes them that to us which they are.
  2. We must see all our help laid up in God, in his power and goodness, his providence and grace; and from him we must expect it to come: "My help comes from the Lord; the help I desire is what he sends, and from him I expect it in his own way and time. If he do not help, no creature can help; if he do, no creature can hinder, can hurt.''
  3. We must fetch in help from God, by faith in his promises, and a due regard to all his institutions: "I will lift up my eyes to the hills'' (probably he meant the hills on which the temple was built, Mount Moriah, and the holy hill of Zion, where the ark of the covenant, the oracle, and the altars were); "I will have an eye to the special presence of God in his church, and with his people (his presence by promise) and not only to his common presence.'' When he was at a distance he would look towards the sanctuary (Ps. 28:2; 42:6); thence comes our help, from the word and prayer, from the secret of his tabernacle. My help cometh from the Lord(so the word is, v. 2), from before the Lord, or from the sight and presence of the Lord. "This (says Dr. Hammond) may refer to Christ incarnate, with whose humanity the Deity being inseparably united, God is always present with him, and, through him, with us, for whom, sitting at God's right hand, he constantly maketh intercession.'' Christ is called the angel of his presence, that saved his people, Isa. 63:9.
  4. We must encourage our confidence in God with this that he made heaven and earth, and he who did that can do any thing. He made the world out of nothing, himself alone, by a word's speaking, in a little time, and all very good, very excellent and beautiful; and therefore, how great soever our straits and difficulties are, he has power sufficient for our succour and relief. He that made heaven and earth is sovereign Lord of all the hosts of both, and can make use of them as he pleases for the help of his people, and restrain them when he pleases from hurting his people.

II. To comfort ourselves in God when our difficulties and dangers are greatest. It is here promised that if we put our trust in God, and keep in the way of our duty, we shall be safe under his protection, so that no real evil, no mere evil, shall happen to us, nor any affliction but what God sees good for us and will do us good by.
  1. God himself has undertaken to be our protector: The Lord is thy keeper, v. 5. Whatever charge he gives his angels to keep his people, he has not thereby discharged himself, so that, whether every particular saint has an angel for his guardian or no, we are sure he has God himself for his guardian. It is infinite wisdom that contrives, and infinite power that works, the safety of those that have put themselves under God's protection. Those must needs be well kept that have the Lord for their keeper. If, by affliction, they be made his prisoners, yet still he is their keeper.
  2. The same that is the protector of the church in general is engaged for the preservation of every particular believer, the same wisdom, the same power, the same promises. He that keepeth Israel (v. 4) is thy keeper, v. 5. The shepherd of the flock is the shepherd of every sheep, and will take care that not one, even of the little ones, shall perish.
  3. He is a wakeful watchful keeper: "He that keepeth Israel, that keepeth thee, O Israelite! shall neither slumber nor sleep; he never did, nor ever will, for he is never weary; he not only does not sleep, but he does not so much as slumber; he has not the least inclination to sleep.''
  4. He not only protects those whom he is the keeper of, but he refreshes them: He is their shade. The comparison has a great deal of gracious condescension in it; the eternal Being who is infinite substance is what he is in order that he may speak sensible comfort to his people, promises to be their umbra—their shadow, to keep as close to them as the shadow does to the body, and to shelter them from the scorching heat, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land, Isa. 32:2. Under this shadow they may sit with delight and assurance, Cant. 2:3.
  5. He is always near to his people for their protection and refreshment, and never at a distance; he is their keeper and shade on their right hand; so that he is never far to seek. The right hand is the working hand; let them but turn themselves dexterously to their duty, and they shall find God ready to them, to assist them and give them success, Ps. 16:8.
  6. He is not only at their right hand, but he will also keep the feet of his saints, 1 Sa. 2:9. He will have an eye upon them in their motions: He will not suffer thy foot to be moved. God will provide that his people shall not be tempted above what they are able, shall not fall into sin, though they may be very near it (Ps. 73:2, 23), shall not fall into trouble, though there be many endeavouring to undermine them by fraud or over throw them by force. He will keep them from being frightened, as we are when we slip or stumble and are ready to fall.
  7. He will protect them from all the malignant influences of the heavenly bodies (v. 6): The sun shall not smite thee with his heat by day nor the moonwith her cold and moisture by night. The sun and moon are great blessings to mankind, and yet (such a sad change has sin made in the creation) even the sun and moon, though worshipped by a great part of mankind, are often instruments of hurt and distemper to human bodies; God by them often smites us; but his favour shall interpose so that they shall not damage his people. He will keep them night and day (Isa. 27:3), as he kept Israel in the wilderness by a pillar of cloud by day, which screened them from the heat of the sun, and of fire by night, which probably diffused a genial warmth over the whole camp, that they might not be prejudiced by the cold and damp of the night, their father Jacob having complained (Gen. 31:40) that by day the drought consumed him and the frost by night. It may be understood figuratively: "Thou shalt not be hurt either by the open assaults of thy enemies, which are as visible as the scorching beams of the sun, or by their secret treacherous attempts, which are like the insensible insinuations of the cold by night.''
  8. His protection will make them safe in every respect:"The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil, the evil of sin and the evil of trouble. He shall prevent the evil thou fearest, and shall sanctify, remove, or lighten, the evil thou feelest. He will keep thee from doing evil (2 Co. 13:7), and so far from suffering evil that whatever affliction happens to thee there shall be no evil in it. Even that which kills shall not hurt.''
  9. It is the spiritual life, especially, that God will take under his protection: He shall preserve thy soul. All souls are his; and the soul is the man, and therefore he will with a peculiar care preserve them, that they be not defiled by sin and disturbed by affliction. He will keep them by keeping us in the possession of them; and he will preserve them from perishing eternally.
  10. He will keep us in all our ways: "He shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in. Thou shalt be under his protection in all thy journeys and voyages, outward-bound or homeward-bound, as he kept Israel in the wilderness, in their removes and rests. He will prosper thee in all thy affairs at home and abroad, in the beginning and in the conclusion of them. He will keep thee in life and death, thy going out and going on while thou livest and thy coming in when thou diest, going out to thy labour in the morning of thy days and coming home to thy rest when the evening of old age calls thee in,'' Ps. 104:23.
  11. He will continue his care over us from this time forth and even for evermore. It is a protection for life, never out of date. "He will be thy guide even unto death, and will then hide thee in the grave, hide thee in heaven. He will preserve thee in his heavenly kingdom.'' God will protect his church and his saints always, even to the end of the world. The Spirit, who is their preserver and comforter, shall abide with them for ever.

Abortion doctor: You adopt one of those "ugly black babies"

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A Charlotte abortion doctor is facing criticism after a video posted online shows him telling a Christian organization to "adopt one of those ugly black babies."

The video shows the group gathered in the front yard of Charlotte doctor Ron Virmani, who is a licensed gynecologist with A Preferred Women's Health Clinic in Charlotte.
In the video, you can see several members of the group in the yard, with Virmani standing in the doorway of his home.

Virmani can be overheard in the video saying "Don't put pregnancy and adoption on the taxpayers."
"What does that got to do with the babies?" members of OSA asked him.
"Don't put it on the taxpayers, okay?" Virmani replied. "I don't wish to pay for the baby with my money."
Group members asked him if he'd rather profit from the babies, referring to his position at the women's clinic.
"I, as a tax payer, do not wish to pay for those babies," he told the group, "to be born and brought up; and kill those people in Colorado."
The members of the group are heard telling Virmani that they do want to pay for the babies.
"Go ahead and pay for them. Let me see you adopt one of those ugly black babies," he yelled back at them.
That phrase has sparked anger across the country.
WBTV attempted to contact Dr. Virmani on Friday afternoon.
A woman by the name of Angie, who works at A Preferred Women's Health Clinic with Virmani, told WBTV that he did not want to go on camera.
She said that she personally knows him and knows that "he is not a racist."
Angie says that Virmani was caught off guard in the video and claims that Operation Save America is only showing a part of the video.
At least five people from the group are seen in the video, including a young boy, but Angie says there were 20 people in his front yard.
"[Virmani] is a person of color himself," Angie told WBTV. She says his entire staff is African-American and that the video was being misconstrued.
When asked if she believed the video as doctored in any way, she simply restated that it was being misconstrued.
The group claims the video was shot on July 26th.

The Battle

Persecution Rising?

Arizona man sent to jail for holding Bible studies in his home ( Matthew 5 In Action)

A Phoenix pastor who was jailed for holding a Bible study group on his private property is now holding one behind bars.
Michael Salman is serving a 60-day sentence in Maricopa County's notorious Tent City jail for allegedly violating his probation by holding religious services on his property in violation of zoning and building codes. He was arrested July 9, after authorities charged the one-time gang member hosted Bible sessions for as many 80 people on his 4-acre property, which he tried to claim as a tax-exempt church.
'I'm sure he'd do it all over again.'
- John Whitehead, lawyer for Michael Salman
"And I'm sure he'd do it all over again," attorney John Whitehead, president of the Rutherford Institute, told FoxNews.com.
In a sense, he is. Salman has assembled a Bible study group on site that has been attended by as many as 30 inmates, according to Whitehead. On Thursday, he was chosen to lead inmates in prayer for the anniversary of the Tent City jail, just before they dined on moon pies, according to a report.
The married father of six is an ordained pastor of Church of God in Christ and founder of Harvest Christian Fellowship. He and his family believe he has the right to worship at home on his private property.
"The only people who came to our home were family and friends," Salman said in a video posted online before he reported to jail this week. "Our home was not open to the public; it was private."
His wife, Suzanne Salman, said her husband's constitutional rights have been violated.
"Christians deserve the right to gather at their homes privately just like every other American has the right to gather for their reasons," she told FoxNews.com.
But the city rejects the idea that Salman is doing time for saving souls.
"The case is about the building that is used for regular assembly does not meet construction and fire code requirements for assembly," Phoenix officials said in a statement.
The outdoor facility where Salman is now being held was incorporated with the county jail in 1993 in order to house a growing number of inmates. Whitehead said the conditions are hellish.
"It's like a Guantanamo facility,"  Whitehead said. "It can get up to 140 degrees out there ... putting someone in Tent City for violating zoning laws is insane."
Salman has done hard time before. The former gang member was arrested for a drive-by shooting as well as being charged with impersonating a police officer. His neighbors say the physically imposing Salman makes them nervous, despite his status as a changed man.
Homeowners Association President Mike Simms told FoxNews.com Salman applied for a permit to build a game room on his property, but installed pew-like seats and a pulpit. Salman has responded by saying "game room" was the best description available for what they were building.
Salman is scheduled to be released Sept. 9, but Whitehead hopes to win an early release for his client.

 Matthew 5: 1-16
1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Believer's Beware: Counterfeit KJVs

Believers Beware of Counterfeit King James Bibles
By Nic Kizziah
This article is © Copyrighted by Theological Research, a department of The Believers Organization.  Permission is granted to copy and distribute this article, or any portion of it, as long as it's not for profit and not edited in any manner whatsoever.  If you wish to use this article in a profit making capacity then permission must be granted by the author.  Contact Nic Kizziah, President, The Believers Organization, P. King James Bible believers are faced with an array of problems to day. Of course we all know that the multiplicity of all the new modern versions are a big problem but another big problem is the fact that many of the worldly publishing companies are publishing Bibles and calling them King James Bibles when in actuality they are not.  They are counterfeits.  Because the King James Bible is in the publick domain and not copyrighted, these worldly publishing companies think they can make minor changes to the standard text so that they can please certain groups which translates into extra sales for them.  That's the way the modern world operates to day.  All the common ordinary Bible believer wants is the same Bible that his grandmother had and the same Bible her grandmother had and the same Bible her grandmother had etc. that's all.
Just give us the text that has established itself as the standard text of the Holy Bible, an old fashioned, Christ exalting, devil kicking, Authorized King James Bible.  To the best of my understanding this is the 1769 edition of the 1611 King James Bible with a few minor printing errors and spellings corrected along the way in the 1800's.
Until the twenty-first century you could get a copy of it in any nickel and dime book store.  To day you can still find it but you must proceed with caution.  You will be hard pressed to find it at all in any typical Christian book store without some alterations to the text.
The Bible of our forefathers which we received through process of time comes with three specific warning labels.  One is near the front.  The other is near the middle and the last one is at the very end.  Let's read them:
WARNING LABEL # 1 - Deuteronomy 4:2
2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
WARNING LABEL # 2 - Proverbs 30:5-6
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
WARNING LABEL # 3 - Revelation 22:18-19
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

I would like to think these worldly publishing companies are just ignorant to the seriousness of what they are doing.  However in some cases I'm sure that these deceptive maneuvers are being done with fore thought.  In other words they are aware of the warning labels but choose to ignore them. They have hardened their hearts against the standard text of the Holy Bible.
Let me give you an example of what I'm talking about.  It was approximately six months ago I purchased a King James Bible from a popular on line book store.  It was a straight text (advertised as the standard text) meaning it had no notes, no references, no helps, and no maps.  It was just what I wanted.  Just give me the Bible and if I need help with a difficult passage I'll ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and I'll check other scriptures for references.
Don't get me wrong.  I'm not against some of the commentaries and other Bible study tools.  In fact I consider some of them a necessity, for example a good dictionary.  It's just that commentaries, dictionaries, concordances and the like are the words of men and not the words of God.  They are not infallible.  Therefore I do not believe they should be mixed together under the same cover and be called the word of God.  In actuality it is the word of God plus the words of a man or a group of men. In my opinion the Holy Bible should be just the word of God only from cover to cover.  That is why I prefer a straight text.
At any rate I had bought the Bible I thought I wanted.  It had been published by Cambridge.  They have always been the giant in the industry. In fact they are the oldest Printer and Publisher in the world.  They are supposed to be the gold standard for dependability according to many King James Bible believers.  This Bible had a nice black French Morocco leather cover with golden coloured gilt edges.  It was very nice on the outside but when I started checking out the inside I was shocked. This particular edition of the Cambridge Bible that calls itself a King James Bible is not genuine.  IT'S A COUNTERFEIT!  It's not the Bible of my forefathers!
Here are some of the changes I located: Asswaged has been changed to assuaged.  Basons has been changed to basins.  Chesnut has been changed to chestnut.  Cloke has been changed to cloak.  Enquire has been changed to inquire.  Further has been changed to farther.  Jubile has been changed to jubilee.  Intreat has been changed to entreat.  Morter has been changed to mortar.  Ought has been changed to aught, and rereward has been changed to rearward.
Brother Nic, why get so upset?  These are just minor changes in spelling.  Well maybe they are, but have you never read "a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?"  You see I believe God wrote the Bible through sinful men.  I believe God copied the Bible through sinful men.  I believe God translated the Bible through sinful men, and I believe God edited (purified) the Bible through sinful men.  So therefore I believe God gave us the exact words in the exact order He wanted us to have them in.  If that's the case then He spelled the words exactly the way He wanted to spell them, and gave them to us in a pure language, and that language is the standard text of the King James Bible.  This is the Bible that has stood the test of time without any editing whatsoever and this is the Bible The Believers organization, with God's help, intends to preserve for all future generations.
Beside all this, Cambridge has also taken the liberty of making doctrinal changes.  Notice the following: The capital S in the word Spirit has been changed to a lower case s in numerous passages.  The capital S refers to the Holy Spirit, the third member of the Godhead, whereas the lower case s in the word spirit could have multiple definitions such as simply referring to a mood or emotion.  Its primary definition means to breath.  All living self moving creatures have a spirit within them.  So many definitions could apply to the word spirit when it is not capitalized.
To change the capital S in the word Spirit to a lower case s is an attack against the Godhead, the most powerful threefold cord in heaven and earth: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Cambridge has made this critical error in the following places: Genesis 1:2, 41:38, Judges 3:10, 6:34, 11:29, 13:25, 14:6, 14:19, 15:14, 1 Samuel 10:6, 10:10, 11:6, 16:13, 16:14, 19:20, 19:23, 2 Samuel 23:2, 1 Kings 18:12, 22:24, 2 Kings 2:16, 2 Chronicles 15:1, 18:23, 20:14, 24:20, Job 33:4, Isaiah 40:13, 48:16, 61:1, 63:10, 11, 14, Ezekiel 11:5, 24.  For hundreds of years Cambridge published these verses with a capital S, but now in the twenty-first century it has been changed.  Actually this so called standard text edition first hit the market in 1993 and is being endorsed by many King James Bible believing websites to day.  I assume that they are not aware that it has been modernized.
Here is another change that has been made in this particular edition: the word twoedged has become two-edged.  They added a hyphen.  This word is only in the King James Bible four times (Psalms 149:6, Proverbs 5:4, Hebrews 4:12, and Revelation 1:16.)  Now check this out: they added the hyphen in only three of the four verses.  They left it without a hyphen in Hebrews 4:12.  Why?  Was this a mistake or did they mean to do it that way?  Why tamper with it in the first place?  Don't say you were trying to help us Cambridge.  If that's the case then please don't try to help us any more.  All we want you to do is to publish the same standard text of the King James Bible as you have done so very well for hundreds of years. Don't publish something that is not the standard and call it the standard.  Once you modernize spelling, change capital letters to lower case letters and add hyphens, you are changing the standard text in order to please modern society.
Here are some other ploys that some of these other worldly publishing companies are pulling on an unaware publick. One thing a lot of them do is change the spelling of words that end with the letters o-u-r to the more modern American spelling of o-r.  For example armour becomes armor.  Behaviour becomes behavior.  Clamour becomes clamor.  Colour becomes color.  Endeavour becomes endeavor.  Favour becomes favor.  Honour becomes honor.  Labour becomes labor.  Neighbour becomes neighbor.  Odour becomes odor.  Rigour becomes rigor.  Rumour becomes rumor.  Valour becomes valor and vapour becomes vapor.  Well Brother Nic what's wrong with that?  Remember what we said about the warning labels?  Remember what the scripture said about a little leaven leaventh the whole lump?
Now the very worst of this battle of o-u-r vs. o-r comes when dealing with the only begotten Son of God, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  The modern day counterfeiters have changed Saviour to Savior.  They have given us a six-letter Savior in place of a seven-letter Saviour.  In Bible numerics seven is the number of completeness, purity, and spiritual perfection.  On the other hand six is the number of man which is earthly not heavenly.  Every one has heard of 666.  It has a bad connotation and is not highly esteemed in Bible numerics.
The seven-letter Saviour is the only begotten Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ.  The six-letter Savior is the son of perdition, the anti christ. He wants to be like the most High (Isaiah 14:14,) but not in a good way, but in an evil way.  He is not a follower.  He's a counterfeiter.  Therefore his final destination is the lake of fire.  The new versions, along with the new age movement, and some of the King James Bible counterfeits are preparing the way for this six-letter so called Savior. That's the way he will spell his name, S-a-v-i-o-r not S-a-v-i-o-u-r.   No thank you Satan.  I'm sticking with the seven-letter Saviour as portrayed in the old black Book that I inherited from my forefathers.
There are many other things going on by the worldly publishing companies.  Almost all of them have hardened their hearts against the standard text of the Holy Bible.  They do not believe God actually had His hand upon it much less wrote it.  They treat it as a product of men.  That is why they do not hesitate to publish all the different new versions.  Nor do they hesitate to change the old King James and still call it the King James. If a person can't see the fingerprints of God upon this Book then he is either clouded in the cabassis or he is as lost as a duck in the desert with his head in the sand!
The rules of English grammar may change but the King James Bible is fixed in a moment of time (the 1800's, the 1900's and for ever more) and is unchangeable.  This is the standard text and there is no other.  This is the Book that spread the gospel of Jesus Christ all over the world. This is the Book my grandmother had and her grandmother had and her grandmother had without any alterations (editing) whatsoever.  It is basically the same Book that rolled off the printing press in 1611.  The only differences being it was changed from Gothic type to Roman type, printer's errors were corrected and spelling was stabilized.  The King James Bible is a very old Book.
Now consider this: the scriptures have been translated into over 1,200 languages.  Of all these over 800 languages had it translated straight from the Elizabethan English of the King James Bible. Not from the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Not from the Latin, not from the German, but straight from the Authorized King James.  Now some of these people have learned English as a second language.  They are not familiar with these modern Americanized spellings nor are most of the other English speaking people of the world.  Can you see what God has woven together through process of time? The Holy Bible is from above and is a finished book from God. It is written in a pure language. Furthermore this language is very peculiar and has been used and still is being used in a very unique way.  Let's preserve it as we received it and quit trying to change it!

This is just a very short list of the changes being made by some of the worldly publishing companies.  If you find one counterfeit word then that is a pretty good indication there are many more.  Don't buy that Bible, check elsewhere.
The best place I know to purchase a good Bible at a reasonable price is at Bearing Precious Seed Ministry.  They sell them at cost. However they do expect a donation with each purchase.  This is a church ministry, not a business.

Reflections on Pastor Jack Schaap of Hammond mega church fired for ‘sin'

Are “Armor Bearers” Biblical?

Are “Armor Bearers” Biblical?

In a word, no…at least not the modern day “armor bearers” walking 2 steps ahead of and behind most pastors today, but that doesn’t mean that they’re un-biblical either.
The word “armor bearer” appears multiple times in the Old Testament, mainly in describing the activity of men charged with protecting a king – literally those who bore armor for protection of others (see the entire book of 1 Samuel for reference).
Sure, the minstrels will argue up and down that they “need an armor bearer, so that I can concentrate on getting a Word from the Lord!”. Of course, what they really mean is they need someone to carry their bibles, water glasses, briefcases, luggage, children, and more.
Gotquestions.org published a great article a few weeks ago (reprinted below in entirety, emphasis added):
Question: “What is an armor-bearer? Should there be a church position of armor-bearer?”
In Scripture, an armor-bearer (also spelled armorbearer and armor bearer) was a servant who carried additional weapons for commanders. Abimelech (Judges 9:54), Saul (1 Samuel 16:12), Jonathan (1 Samuel 14:6-17), and Joab (2 Samuel 18:15) had armor-bearers/armorbearers. Armor-bearers were also responsible for killing enemies wounded by their masters. After enemy soldiers were wounded with javelins or bows and arrows, armor-bearers finished the job with clubs and/or swords. After the time of David, armor-bearers are no longer mentioned, likely due to the fact that commanders began to fight from chariots (1 Kings 12:18; 20:33).
Some churches today have instituted a figurative position of armor-bearer. The duties range widely, but generally speaking, a church armor-bearer carries the “armor” of a church leader, such as the leader’s Bible “the sword of the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12). In some instances, a church armor-bearer essentially serves as a church leader’s bodyguard. Is the idea of a church armor-bearer biblically-based? No, it is not. Does the concept of a church armor-bearer contradict anything in Scripture? Not necessarily. Any church considering such a position should prayerfully study God’s Word and make sure the responsibilities assigned in no way conflict with the New Testament’s teaching on the church. The fact that the New Testament nowhere mentions armor-bearers and nowhere describes any of the apostles/prophets/elders having a person in that role should give pause to any church considering instituting the role of armor-bearer.
Churches and ministries should pray and be sure to adhere to TRUE scripture and not traditions of man. Of course, if more churches did pray and adhere to scripture, then their pews would be empty.
